Introduction

Profhilo® is a patented technology of bio-remodeling injectable. It is the first “injectable skincare” that addresses skin laxity and signs of aging through the bio-stimulation of collagen, elastin, and adipocytes (fats) stem cells that are lost through skin aging.

Profhilo® is also the only HA injectable that is able to improve skin laxity through the stimulation of elastin. With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml), it intensely boosts skin hydration levels.

This is made possible with NAHYCO® Technology where 32mg of high molecular HA (H-HA) and 32mg of low molecular HA (L-HA), bind together through thermal crosslinking to form the only Hybrid Cooperative Complex Hyaluronic (HCC) Acid. In addition to its skin hydrating properties, HCC Acid also stimulates collagen and elastin to remodel sagging tissue for firmer, younger-looking skin.

Profhilo® uses the unique Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) technique

Originally created for the malar and sub-malar areas due to their predisposition to dermal atrophy caused by the aging phenomena, the BAP Technique is the most widespread and highly recommended protocol for treating these areas.
Owing to PROFHILO®'s high flowability, without leaving tissue irregularities, a specific BAP Technique was developed for the neck.

Profhilo® vs. Dermal Fillers

Skinboosters uses the principle of replacing lost hyaluronic acid in our skin to restore hydration and elasticity while Fillers are designed to replace lost volume or fill-up folds.
Profhilo® is not a dermal filler, nor is it a skin booster. While it is also a Hyaluronic Acid-based product, it is designed to remodel multi-layer skin tissue. It works in the epidermis, dermis, and superficial fat compartments to target and treat the source of aging and not just the aging symptoms.

Where can Profhilo® be injected?

Profhilo® is most commonly used on the cheek area and lower face, but can also be used to improve the appearance of the skin on the following areas:

FAQ

What's the difference between Profhilo and dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers and Profhilo are both made from moisture-boosting hyaluronic acid.
However, dermal fillers are designed to stay in a single place, adding instant plumpness to sagging skin.
Profhilo works differently. It integrates with the skin to trigger the patient’s own, natural, anti-aging processes. In addition, Profhilo does not contain synthetic additives, such as BDDE, which minimizes the risk of side effects.
Both treatments have different, but equally impressive, benefits.

How long does Profhilo last?

The Profhilo continues to work in the skin for around a month after treatment, at which point it will have been fully metabolized by the body. By this time, it will have stimulated natural collagen and elastin production, meaning that the rejuvenating effects of treatment will continue even after Profhilo has been naturally broken down.
After initial treatments, a Profhilo treatment every six months should be sufficient to maintain the benefits.

Can I have Profhilo at the same time as other treatments?

Profhilo can be used alongside many of our other treatments, to further enhance the rejuvenating benefits.
For example, Profhilo is a perfect partner for botox treatments. While botox tackles wrinkles caused by specific muscles, the Profhilo will give an overall radiance boost, complimenting the botox.
Dermal fillers can also be used in conjunction with Profhilo, to add volume to specific areas, while the Profhilo provides more general rejuvenation.

Do Profhilo injections hurt?

We use a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort.
Without this, there may be a slight stinging feeling as the Profhilo is injected, but this only lasts a few seconds.

What are the side effects of having Profhilo?

Normal side effects include small amounts of swelling, bruising, redness, and soreness. Most of these will subside after a couple of days and be gone within ten. If you are still experiencing problems after ten days you should contact your practitioner for advice.

Is Profhilo permanent?

Hyaluronic acid-based treatments are not permanent. Eventually, the ingredients will be absorbed by the body. This is a gradual process, so they won’t suddenly disappear overnight.
After your initial treatments, a Profhilo treatment every six months should be sufficient to maintain the benefits.
